Forgot.

My Troma movies came in the other day: Toxic Avenger 1-4, Terror Firmer, Tromeo & Juliet and an animated Toxic Avenger movie.

Not only that, but I’ve been making mini-movies from ivLAN. Yeah, it was cool. So was the circus that I had to leave early for. hehe

Here’s 3 of the movies:
Orchard getting steamy (1.91MB).
My free KB plug (4.26MB).
Virus’ long winded adventure (10.93MB).

Yay for running late and cleaning your teeth while you update your LiveJournal! Yay for caffeine headaches!

Great.

Well this weekend has been a cliche rollercoaster ride of emotions. Right now I’m experiencing a shitty one.

More on this later.

P.S. Saggy boobs in some 70s movie on VHS dad is converting to DVD.

Back again.

Got it finished. It’s a bit shoddy but I really couldn’t care less. I printed out our logo on the colour printer though in a desperate bid to scrape up a few more marks for “novelty”.

My download of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 just finished at the same time. How fortunate. What’s unfortunate, however, is that I have to get up in 6 hours so that I can make it to my tutorial tomorrow and get the rest of my group to sign the cover page of the assignment. That reminds me, I have to submit a .txt version of our plan. Just did it then. Wow.

Right, golf time.

Wah.

WineSoc dinner tonight, exec only freebie. \o/

Have to get a roll on with this fucked up report. I have a feeling it’ll be made due next week, but I have to do something anyway just for the sake of it (yeah right).

Also have to get my part done for my INFS3020 subject. Good old teamwork. Ho hum.

ivLAN this weekend! \o/ Shame I can only stay a night, but I’ll have to take Vic back on Saturday anyway, along with going to Cirque de Soleil (?sp) that night with Lou. She had a reasonable birthday celebration I suppose (although she seems to have complained a smidgeon ;o). Considering it was just “another birthday”… The next landmark one wont be until she’s 30. hehe

I watched all of MTV’s Spider-Man cartoon that I bought on DVD. The animation is sexy in it, and I really enjoyed the series. I hope they make a second one but I have a bad feeling they wont. :(

My Twin Peaks VHS set also arrived, and the bastard that I got them off didn’t give me any feedback even after I emailed him saying I would give him a positive score. What a fucking cunt. Yes.

Still waiting for my Troma movie order to arrive, all 6 movies. That’ll be some high class viewing, I’m sure. They should be dropped off in dad’s post office box soon, I ordered them from Amazon over a week ago.

The movie I got dad to deliver to to forward on to us still hasn’t turned up. She said she sent it via ship but it’s been ages. Hope nothing got stuffed up. :( I still have to get dad to pay her back for the shipping as well, maybe that’s what she’s holding out for. ;) hehe

Hmm. I have to be on a train in about 64 minutes. Can’t wait for that one. Hope the dinner is good.

I finished CoD:UO the other day and finished an easy campaign of Rome: Total War… I’m still mucking around with that when I can spare 5 hours minimum of addiction time. :s I haven’t played Morrowind for a while, which kind of frustrates me, but I’m like that with RPGs. :s

Also scored Evil Genius and Deer Hunter 2005. Man I’m such a game slut. Evil Genius is cool but a bit tedious imho. Deer Hunter will get boring real fast but I had to try it just for posterity. You can hunt in Australia now! hehe

Rightio, then.

*thwip*

Bought the most bonar Spidey t-shirt today. It’s white with red collars and lining on the sleeves. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Also negotiating with a dude for a mod-chipped X-Box with a 120 gig hard drive in it, amongst other shit. Yay for spending!

Lloyd is a noob btw.

So yeah, went in to town with Lou today and bought my shirt in Utopia. Saw The Girl Next Door. It was ok, for a dumb movie. I was somewhat surprised there weren’t any porn star cameos (that I noticed, at least)… But anyway.

Rounding off day 3 of my latest kick-start diet. Banana smoothies tomorrow! Wooooohoooo!

Played my first game of RtCW in about a year last night. Was mad fun, even though we lost 3-1. Damn skitzy and his bs haxing. :O! Ah well.

It’s cold. Brr.

*Update*
What an arsehole. The guy I was emailing about the X-Box decided (within an hour of me saying the price he wanted sounded fair) that he didn’t want to sell it any more and would keep it. Fucker.

Now I’ll have to win another auction and maybe score some mod chips as well. Not to mention buying a hard drive eventually. Oh well.

I’m thinking of dropping one of my subjects before the August 31st cut-off date. I can’t work out the C programming in it. It’s really pissing me off, because the rest of the concepts in the course I’m fine with – it’s just this programming assignment that has me rooted. I’m waiting on my tutor to reply to my email but if he doesn’t get me on track in time I’ll just have to cull the bastard (and the course).

I really should write my own post again. I think I’ll steal this stuff, it’s gold.

Apart from that, my cat is still sleeping on my mousepad regularly while I’m at the computer. I’m surprised actually that he doesn’t leave more hairs lying around to confuse the lens on my optical mouse. He must be discretely considerate. What a good little chap.

A fun distraction, if you can be bothered playing it daily: Funeral Quest. I’m trying to get tofu to put our own version up on the dot server. Here’s hoping he’s not too busy with SCRABBLE.

I have a mozzie bite next to my right nipple I think. Maybe it’s just a third nipple I never noticed. I’m sticking to the mozzie story. Itchy bastard.

I’ve set up rednut (my other PC) to do some distributed computing projects like protein folding and SETI@home. Otherwise he wouldn’t be doing a whole lot.

For some reason, kos, morg and tofu’s results aren’t coming through at all for the protein folding. It’s really weird that all three of them are getting binked. Hopefully it fixes itself up. I made a dot team for the folding, and joined the OCAU team for SETI@home, as no one else seemed interested in doing it with me. :'(

Saw Chandler last Tuesday and again on the Saturday. Was good to catch up with him finally. Saturday was pretty fun, we just chilled out and later caught up with Benecke and Byrne. We didn’t really get a chance to see the Wallabies lose, which is probably a good thing on what I heard about their performance. Later on I finished watching Starship Troopers back at Chandler’s until 2am or so. That movie rocked, I always meant to see it years ago but never got around to it.

On Sunday Lou and I went to Crows Nest again for a double date with Laura and Alex. We hit up Pinos (it was packed out to the BULLSHIT) and I stuffed myself on gnocchi then we dropped in to Bravo’s for some gelato. Mark was working there so we had a nice chat to him over our icecream. Mmm. The gnocchi was good but it had nothing on the bonar chicken burger from Chooka’s Chicken up the road that I had on Saturday! My god was that tasty. I’m so going back for another one soon. Maybe I’ll take Lou there to show her what I was talking about. I’m salivating at the thought. God damn.

Have to go in to uni tomorrow for a meeting about my INFS3020 project, it’ll take all of 5 minutes I’m sure. Maybe I’ll swing by Crows Nest with Lou for a chicken burger while she’s killing time for work or something. The only problem with this is that it means I’ll have to try and find a park at uni. Maybe I’ll be in luck since it’ll be Thursday and all. Hrmm.

I always get a bit self conscious about the song that comes up in my post (when I’m listening to one). I get self conscious when I have to talk about what music I like listening to, as I feel people are always judged on their tastes (I know I do it :s). Not to mention people always go on about defining genres, etc. I’m crap at that. I like plenty of music, I just don’t like talking about it. SO THERE. Some songs I have at random but I feel they’re a bit too “trendy” to be a fair indication of my taste, so I’ll skip it until a cooler one comes up for my post. I bet I’m not the only person who does this. Anyway…

I’m sure everyone will respect me for the song I have selected. Out.

Blergh.

Sore throat. Ouchies. Probably not enough sleep. It got me a sickie yesterday at least.

Big Lebowski didn’t end up getting played at uni on Tuesday, they fucked up the DVD that they hired (isn’t it meant to be illegal to hire a movie out to screen publically?) and accidently got Fargo or something. Not that Fargo is a bad movie, we just didn’t feel like watching it after we spent the last week or two and the whole day getting excited about seeing it (as Lou still hasn’t)… Oh well, Saturday perhaps!

Gotta leave for uni soon. I hate early tutorials when that’s all that I have on for the day. How sucky. :< The subject's website says we have to hand some work in each tutorial, but the tutorial questions came with answers this week… ? They were also labelled "week 3" even though it's week 2… I'm so confused. At least I'll hopefully have some time now to buy my textbooks I guess, as I'll have a few hours (ie, 5) before work tonight.

Bought Doom 3 on Tuesday. As most switched-on reviewers have commented: it's an ordinary game on a terrific engine. It is basically a tribute/near-remake of Doom 1. Linear gameplay, weak story, weak characters and no real replayability. It looks beautiful though and the lighting effects are amazing. I had to crank up the gamma through the in game console to be able to see anything though… I think it's perhaps a little too dark most of the time.

The multiplayer is fun (and it feels very, very smooth) but will be short lived. I’m pretty sure the id boys concentrated all their time on making a solid engine that they knew they could license out to other developers. The hype about the singleplayer experience (whilst still a fun game, it’s AI is weaker than that of Half-Life’s and the story is even weaker) was just to make BIG dollars. It appears they’ve already released the source code to certain developers (I know Quake 4 is being made off a modified Doom 3 engine) and I think a map editor is included with the game. Mods will keep this game alive (and there will be many!).

Now we wait for Half-Life 2, which appears to have a more dynamic engine (and most likely a great storyline and experience). It’ll be tough to match the smooth movement that only id seem to be able to provide, though. Still, it’s very possible. Apparently the latest Unreal Tournament is meant to have a killer engine. Unfortunately, I’ve always had issues with the way the mouse and player movement feels in UT. Hopefully the latest one is smooth sailing.

About time I cleaned my teeth and went to uni I think. Huzzah.

whipaCHOW.

Of course, I’m sleepy again. I only post in here when I’m sleepy. Maybe that’s why life sounds so boring in here. Maybe I’m just boring though. Whatever.

Had a big bludgy day at uni today. Managed to hit up some Thai Times 9 with Asren and Lou. Also bought some beads for Lou from the Bead Company. Expensive little bastards. That place must make a killing. I took her round to see where our flat on King street is as well. Lots of walking. Whee.

Saturday night was good fun, a nice big gathering of chums (including Helena and Asren, again). We went from Ship Inn to the Australian to the Lowenbrau to Maccas to Ship Inn to Pancakes on the Rocks to home. Lloyd and Eri didn’t soft out for once. It was impressive. Good to see the rest of most of the usual suspects as well.

I’m already in lazy mode for uni, it’s got me worried. I have to buy the text books. I was going to buy them today but the queue was way too long. I also have to pay at least $175 for only two text books. Gotta love that. At least I get a bit of a discount due to my Co-Op membership.

Tomorrow I’m meant to be watching The Big Lebowski with Lou at Manning Bar in the afternoon. I tried to talk Helena in to coming along, too, on Saturday night. Don’t know if she’ll be up for it though. Hmm.

I tried out that Manhunt game by Rockstar. The one where you go around viciously murdering gang members. Some 17 year old killed a 14 year old in America and they’re blaming the game for inspiring him, as the 17 year old enjoyed the game. Personally I think that although the execution videos are very graphic, they still come off a little comical (and entertaining, even; at least from a curiousity standpoint, perhaps) and the gameplay is fairly boring and repetitive. The AI is dodgy and the process of taking them out is simply laborious. If that 17 year old was inspired by the game to kill that 14 year old violently, he’d have to already be pretty fucked up anyway to be able to play the game long enough to be influenced by it. Blame the parenting and the fact that some people are just bad, I say.

I’m really bored lately and just can’t be stuffed doing anything productive, or even counter-productive. I just sort of sit around waiting for something interesting to happen. I really need to start doing some uni work, or preparation for assignments or something.

I hope the bracelet Lou made me is cool, I’m sure it will be. We got some nice dark red beads and a few B-grade garnets, as they’re my birth stone. :) Whee should be good tomorrow.

Palmy and tofu spent most of the weekend making the dot movie. Apparently it’s roughly 400MB to download. I think the dotmaens are getting a special DVD version though that’s higher quality. Should be cool.

Wrists hurting. Waah.

Finished.

Woot, exams over. Hard bonars. Lou wasn’t too confident with our last exam today. Hope it works out alright for her. :O

I submitted my application for special consideration for my prereqs, hopefully it’s all good. :/

Saw Spider-Man 2 tonight.

I expect it wont be long before Spidey 2 is #1. :O Well, in the top 10 at least. EASY.

Now, I really should get some sleep some time today, as I only managed 1 hour’s worth last night. :(
