ARGH.

Still no net. Hi home.

I need to find out Dad’s special rent account number so I can deposit all of my cash and be poor again. :<

Larry the exetel man says to try a few more things tonight and see what happens, if that doesn’t work he’ll lodge an ADSL fault complaint with Telstra for me, or some crap. God knows.

Stupid ISP only having office hours open during business hours. It’s not fucking good for either me or Scott as we both work outside of and through exetel’s business hours, so there’s only 1 or 2 days a week where we’re home to go through all their bullshit.

I bet the pricks bill me for the first month, too. Real fair. Especially when Larry himself (hallowed-be-thy-name) admitted he wasn’t even sure what the problem was. Hopefully I can fix it tonight, otherwise what’s another few days.

It’s just the convenience of the net that I’m missing. Having to drive home to do netbanking and check my email etc is pretty annoying. I can do most of the basic things at netcafes easily enough, but no fucking way am I doing any actual monetary transactions or banking from one of those places.

So what else have I been doing, then? Hmm.

Well, Scott and I have been checking out a few restaurants up King street, most are alright, bar Guzzle Tandoori opposite us. Totally shit. Lou’s been coming along now and then too. This week I’m gonna try and starve myself a bit because I feel like I’m overeating again and I want to lose some more weight. If that doesn’t work or I can’t handle it I’ll fire up the kick-start diet again and try that out. Yeah, just in time for Christmas. That’s ok though, I don’t really like Christmas food much.

Speaking of food, I think I’m going to Kylie Kwong’s (Kwan? Kwon?) restaurant with Lou and her parents next week… I think. It’s either tomorrow or next week. Hrm. That’s Asian-y food anyway, and if it’s Chinese I don’t particulary get off too much on that either. Still, I’m sure it’ll be fun.

Saw Garden State with Lou last week, very good and enjoyable and it didn’t feel Hollywood-bastardised, which is refreshing for an American movie. Much like all my Troma videos that I’m still ploughing through. I think I’m starting to convert Scott to both TISM and Troma. Look out. He seemed to enjoy the 10 year old TISM video I converted to DVD about some of their exploits. Jolly good.

Last weekend was the Christmas party for where I work. We went to the same place again: Harold Park Paceway (gotta love the trots). The food was alright, very RSL/bistro-y. I didn’t eat any of the seafood, of course. The beer seemed to be watered down but at least it was free. My costume (a “Christmas present”, ie a cardbox box with shoulder straps made of tinsel and wrapped in wrapping paper) fell apart when the wind blew the paper straight off it, so I ditched it. I couldn’t be fucked carrying it from Newtown to Glebe or wherever the Paceway is, I walked 35 minutes to get there.

After the party I decided to go to Newtown, instead of Oxford street where some of my other colleagues went. It turned out another girl I knew from work was hitting up a pub on King street so I met up there with her and more work people I’d never spoken to before. It went well enough. I then had to escort a girl called Alecia around the back streets of Newtown to find the Imperial where some more “upstairs” people from work were hanging around. No one stayed there long though as it was getting a bit late and no one was drinking enough to keep it going. I managed to fluke my way through the back streets and found my apartment really easily. Go me.

On Sunday, Deny came around to pick up his paintings and mum and dad came round to check up on things and help me with a few handyman style jobs. Scott and I were rather amused that orphic never bothered calling or dropping in. I’m sure she’ll have a good excuse. hehe.

As for work, well, I’m simply working too hard (as usual, of course) and I’m getting my RSI symptoms back again. I can only type for a little while before it starts to burn, but I have other odd jobs to keep me going for my 3 ten hour shifts a week. Good times, yes.

Hopefully I’ll be able to work my way in to the IT department after Christmas. Hopefully. We’ll see what happens.

Anyway I suppose I’ll get a wriggle on and get back to the flat. Oh maybe I’ll pay dad first and bust my bank account. Medicare still haven’t paid him his money for about the 6th time this year… Yes, Medicare owes my dad $30k from this year, and still haven’t paid up. They keep saying the forms he submitted must have been lost by Australia Post. Unfortunately for them he’s always delivered them by hand to Medicare’s office drop boxes. Bad luck on the excuses, you pricks.

So, that’s why he wants my money, now. :S

Whee.

Oh yeah, getting up at 5am for work fucking smokes it.

HI.

Yes welcome back to the internet. Or, Internet as it is meant to be officially.

We’re still without a working ADSL account at the flat (yes I moved out on the 20th). It’s been fun nonetheless, although my new work hours are long and early. :<

Not having the net is kind of annoying, mainly from an email point of view, but also from a time-killing point of view. The amount of bad TV and movies we’ve been watching says it all.

The housewarming was good. Went reasonably smoothly and everyone had a good time.

I’m still jealous and a bit bitter in an I-missed-out-on-the-fun (sub 18 years old style, the dingy way I used to [and I guess still do] get) about Benecke’s last Friday. Sounded pretty debauched, leading to a tamer Saturday night for my housewarming. Grr.

Silly, I know, but I can’t help it. Never could.

Anyway. Hopefully the net will be sorted out ASAP. I just emailed the BILLING TEAM at exetel. Sorry, eXeTeL. Yeah…

Whackeedoo.

5:15am starts. Owned. :(

HEADACHES OF PEARL REDEMPTION STORY
Hello. I’m Teddy Twitfizzle. I suffer from migraines.
I get them standing up; and lying down. No medicine seems to help.
It’s like daggers flying into my head.
I suppose I should stop taking all that crystal meth.

Made here.

Weird.

redknob is the last of the great eccentrics. The funny thing is, he doesn’t know it. He thinks his behaviour is perfectly normal. He sees himself as a pillar of propriety and a paragon of protocol. redknob has strong views about every topic under the sun. There’s not a subject he doesn’t know about or a moral point he can’t pontificate on. redknob is entitled to be a little arrogant. He knows an awful lot about an awful lot of things. He is well versed, well rehearsed, and deeply immersed in the kind of knowledge that we lesser mortals can only dream of attaining. Thankfully, he is there to shed the light and show the way. This, he does generously and patiently, as befits a person of superior intellect. redknob is wise, intelligent and (thankfully) oblivious to irony.

Or, at least, that’s how redknob is, at his worst. He can’t help it. He’s an Aquarian and Aquarians are infamous for their occasional outbursts of pomposity. Happily there is another truly delightful side to him. redknob is as honest as the day is long, as generous as the ocean is deep. This is partly where the eccentricity comes from, for a person with such strong opinions redknob is surprisingly willing to please. he is keen to win friends and influence people. He loves to feel that he belongs. He always wants to be in on the action, part of the scene and one of the gang. Rather like Groucho Marx though, he is never sure that he would want to be part of any club that would have him as a member. He is always on the lookout for some new cause to support, or enterprise to sign up to. You might think that this would make him fickle but actually redknob is exceedingly loyal. He may be forever expanding his horizons but he never forgets his friends and he never reneges on his commitments.

This is why, despite the highly idiosyncratic nature of redknobs personality, so many people think the world of him.

It feels accurate, but you get the same result if you change the name to someone else… Who would have thought the were only 12 stereotypes in the whole world?

Retro.

Just watched the Breakfast Club with Lou. She hadn’t seen it before and I haven’t watched it in years. It’s so good. :) I was born about 18 years too late, I missed my cultural prime. :(

What else should I mention? Hmm. Looks like Dubya got re-elected. I was expecting it anyway, so I guess I was braced for a bit of disappointment. I hear that Hillary (?Hilary) Clinton is keen on running as the Democrats leader for the new election… Can’t wait to watch that!

Gotta lend one of my textbooks to a guy from uni tomorrow. He wants to photocopy it all so he doesn’t have to buy the book. Hope he gets it back to me swiftly! Otherwise I wont have to feel bad about not studying until the day before the exam. Wee-hoo.

Yesterday I went out to some furniture park near dad’s work in the western suburbs with my parents. Bought some new furniture (el-cheapo to moderately priced) for the flat. Only a few weeks until the big move! :o It should be fun. Hope everything we bought fits in the place and also suits the place. I’m having a minor dilemma in that I can’t find a decent red or maroon-y bedspread anywhere. :(

Mum and dad also said we should be able to pick up a second remote for the garage, so I can more easily attempt to ninja a spot in there (we have a feeling a lot of the spots aren’t being used at all). By the way, tofu/’s the one moving in with me. What an unveiling! He’s getting our assigned car park as he’s most likely to have a new(ish) car by the time we move in.

I worked out I only need to slightly extend my hours at work each week in order to relatively comfortably provide for myself during semester. That means I can probably chuck an extra few shifts in just for “fun” over the holidays and save up a bit more anyway. I’ll see how I go.

My video card is still playing up. Little shit. Purple bars and all. says it’s probably the on-card memory. I don’t know shit about PC hardware in the greater scheme of things so I’ll take his word for it. Tried to talk dad in to getting the guys at PlusCorp to swap it for me… Hopefully he will.

The end.
